Starting university is exciting, but it can also be overwhelming. Many learners begin their first year without understanding how degrees are structured, what university terminology means, how academic progression works or what to do if they realise they've chosen the wrong qualification.
The First-Year Playbook: How Degrees Work, How to Switch, and How to Survive Varsity is an interactive online workshop designed to answer the questions every future university student wishes they had asked before arriving on campus.
This workshop takes you behind the scenes of university life, explaining everything from Higher Certificates, Diplomas and Degrees to credits, modules, semesters, tutorials, DP requirements and sub-minimums. You'll also learn how changing degrees or majors works, when credits can be transferred, what happens if you fail a module, and how to avoid common mistakes that cost students valuable time and money.
Beyond academics, we'll prepare you for the realities of university life by exploring time management, budgeting, accommodation, independence, wellbeing and the many support services available on campus. By the end of the session, you'll have a clear understanding of how university works and the confidence to transition successfully from high school to higher education.
Every participant will receive a comprehensive First-Year Playbook Workbook, packed with practical guides, university terminology, planning templates, checklists and resources to help them thrive from day one.
